Freiburger’s Crop Duster Giveaway

You Could Win Freiburger’s 1970 Plymouth Duster

and $5,000!

Yes, I am giving away the famed Crop Duster and $5,000! All the rules are linked below. It’s surprising even to me that I am letting this car go, as it has so much history between Steve Dulcich and myself, as you saw on many episodes of Roadkill Garage on TV.

This 1970 Plymouth came into our lives at least 20 years ago, and it has been an active project for 12 years. At the beginning it was a total beater loaded with the 440 big-block that had been in General Mayhem, which was when Finnegan and Dulcich famously smashed my brand new headers to fit. With that engine, the car was a mid-12-second beater with a great, down and dirty look.

This Could Be Yours!

It would not stay dirty for long. Over the course of a couple years, Steve Dulcich worked hard to get the Duster pin straight, then applied a fantastic paint job in the original color of Alpine white. We conspired to add a 1971 factory style blackout treatment over the fiberglass hood that carries a ’69-1/2 Six Pack type hood scoop. The bumpers and a ’71-type sharktooth grille were installed. Underneath, the factory undercoating was cleaned and sprayed with chassis black. It’s sano.

The car originally had a green interior, so we stuck with that, with me waiting nearly a year to receive seat covers made with new old stock material in the amazing 1971 yellow and green plaid. So good. The inside of the Crop Duster has newer upholstery, door panels, carpet, a fresh dash pad, a clean steering wheel, and gauges in a custom under dash panel.

The mechanical makeover included an 8-3/4 rearend that now carries 3.23s and a locker, Calvert racing mono leaf springs and CalTracs bars, QA1 double-adjustable shocks, Wilwood front disc brakes, SSBC rear disc brakes, and a fresh front suspension that has been blasted and painted. The transmission is a TCI Torqueflite with not many miles on it. The 3-inch dual exhaust system sounds killer.

This brings us to the engine. It currently has a big-block that began as a 383 but that has been stroked to 440. The thing is, that engine block is the first one I ever owned, dating back to 1983. I will likely be replacing the engine with a different 383-based big-block for the Crop Duster. To see exactly what engine may go into the car before it’s given away, make sure to follow the videos that will be posted on my YouTube channel between now and when the sweepstakes ends on December 13, 2026.

This is a really, really good car. Tinkering with it over the past few weeks to improve it for the new owner has made me remember exactly how much work and money that Steve Dulcich and I put into it.

That said, it does have some flaws and some things that could still use work to be perfect. Like, for example, it has no headliner. If you’ve followed me for long, this will not surprise you. You can learn far more about the best and worst parts of the car by watching me on YouTube.

One thing I can say is that I’m excited for whoever wins the Crop Duster. Will it be you? Please get your entries now for a chance to win this great car and $5000.
