This is a shirt that means more to me than most of them, since it’s here to support the land-speed racing efforts I’m so proud of. My partners Keith and Tonya Turk and I have raced this 1981 Camaro since 2004 and have set many records in it at the Bonneville Salt Flats, The Texas Mile, The Maxton Mile, and at Loring, Maine. Keith even set a record in it at historic Muroc Dry Lake. All our our records are in excess of 225 mph, and our top speed is 261.602 mph.
The problem is that we have not raced for many years now, and I’ve yet to get into the 200 MPH Club at El Mirage Dry Lake, the birthplace of SoCal hot rodding. In 2019, it’s my goal to set a class record in excess of 200 mph on the 1.3-mile hard-packed silt track with a ProCharged, 1,100-horsepower, 347ci small-block Chevy that I built myself. It’s not going to be easy or cheap, and I probably won’t get it done at the first race. But this is a lifetime goal for me so we have to make it happen, and I hope you’ll support me by wearing a shirt proudly for this racing season.
The soft, 100% cotton t-shirts are available in black and feature artwork by Rob Martin. The Camaro is smaller on the front with a larger design on the back that also says “Turk-Freiburger Land Speed Racing - 261.602 MPH.”
