Here’s the car that started it all!

Way back in 2011, Mike Finnegan, Rick Péwé, and I rescued this 1966 Buick Special convertible out of Rick’s backyard and made a video about it that changes our entire careers. The car had been bought by Rick’s mom when it was just a year or two old and she drove it until around 1978 when the trans failed and it was abandoned to sink into the ground. Thirty-plus years later, Rick threw in a fresh trans, we made the 300ci V8 run, added a stop sign and a railroad sign for floorboards, and hit the road!

Later on I added complete street/handling suspension and disc brakes from CPP and left it otherwise stock, turning the Buick into a great cruiser. The copper-powdercoated wheels remain controversial to this day, but I thought they perfectly matched the surface rust.

Now, 8 years later, I still have the Buick, it’s still seen occasionally on video, and you can finally be a part of it with this new T-shirt! As with all DF shirts, it’s 100% cotton and made in the USA.
